Carwyn sat hunched outside of Aphrodite's cabin, gritting his teeth at the wind that shrieked between the tiny huts and tore at his clothing. The boy was bedecked in winter clothing: a fluff-lined grey jacket with the hood pulled over his face, an unravelling pink scarf that one of his numerous sisters had knitted as a joke, and a pair of gloves that made it incredibly difficult to complete the task at hand. "Still, they're paying good money," he muttered under his breath, breathing into a tiny plastic heart-container that had once been a perfume bottle and capping it quickly; the carbon dioxide swirled invisibly inside of its prison and then was suddenly tinted with pink. He wasn't sure why the Hermes cabin wanted fifteen 'love-smoke bombs,' and he was starting to think that it was going to be part of an elaborate prank that was to be coincidentally timed with Valentine's Day. Still, he wasn't going to ask questions. Carwyn would have worked inside of the cabin, but his beloved 'sisters' were in there and would be wanting to know all about this jumbo-sized order. He grimaced at the thought of their heavily made-up faces and carefully-painted nails. He had... what? Three, four brothers and at least three times as many sisters? The fact that he was related to all of them was still a bit ungraspable, but he'd get used to it eventually. Still, it was none of their business who the order for. Being one of the few able to bottle the allure of Aphrodite's children had its perks, and secrecy was just one of the few services he guaranteed. Carwyn finished the last plastic weapon, shaking it and watching the pink smoke swirling in response. "Alright..." He glanced back at the cabin door - some boy band's music was playing loudly - and winced, glancing about. They were so... loud. Far too giggly for his tastes - hadn't they ever heard that silence was the sweetest sound? "To where can I make my escape?"

Cameron exited his cabin. His eyes were instantly drawn by a boy sitting outside the Aphrodite cabin. He was defiantly a member of the cabin, Cameron could tell by his looks. Yet, there he was, sitting outside of the cabin, making something. Cameron was not even sure what he was doing, so he sauntered over to the boy. "Howdy," Cameron said, his mild Texas draw apparent still even after all the years he spent at the Camp. "What ya'll doin'?" he asked curiously. Cameron knelt on the ground in front of the boy. "The name's Cameron, Cameron Merlot, Son of Poseidon."

Kate normally had better things to do then to wander around camp, She could have been practicing in the arena or searching the forest for a monster to ‘kill,’ but today she wasn’t quite in the mood to do what she did everyday. She gave the girls at camp the day off today, saying that ‘even though it was a worthless holiday and a waste of room on the calendar’; she’d give them the day off because everyone else had it off. She was passing the Hermes cabin when she noticed a few of the boys there was whispering about something. As long as whatever they’re planning stays out of our cabin, we won’t have any trouble. She thought, walking across the way to the Dionysus cabin. When she was about to pass the Aphrodite cabin she stopped, noticing Carwyn working on something. She watched silently, trying to ignore the boy-band music. Her eyes widened when she saw the pink smoke swirl in the bottle, He’s one of those who can bottle the power of the Aphrodite children. I haven’t seen someone do that since before I joined the huntresses. “The forest is normally quite quiet, I’d suggest it if your trying to get away from our sisters. They never go there, Too girly…” The deputy huntress told him, smiling slightly when she hinted that her mother too, was Aphrodite. I wonder in the cabin still looks the same, I doubt it thought. It’s been over a hundred years. She then turned to look at Cameron before looking back at her ‘brother’, “I’m afraid I’ve never introduced myself. I’m Katherine Ruth, but please call me Kate.” She told them both. Word Count: 307 Muse: Could be better

Carwyn's blue eyes flicked up to Cameron when the solitude was interrupted; he dropped the unconventional 'grenade' into the satchel at his side (carefully, of course) and straightened to size up the other male. A son of Poseidon? There weren't too many of those floating around, though he supposed that a few did pop up occasionally. "Nothing," the demigod replied almost automatically to the man's first inquiry, tilting his head back to shake off the hood of his jacket. "Pleased to meet you, Cameron. I'm Carwyn, son of..." he glanced back at the cabin and shrugged, a reluctant smile appearing on his face. "well, obvious." He didn't offer the demigod his last name or his hand to shake; he was barely keeping his face neutral at the sound of Cameron's accent, though internally he was torn between amusement and disdain. Carwyn was about to excuse himself from the awkward scene when another voice chimed in, female this time: “The forest is normally quite quiet, I’d suggest it if your trying to get away from our sisters. They never go there, too girly…” The teenager tilted his head to the side as he glanced over at the newcomer; she was clearly one of his (painfully numerous) siblings, an almost-unnatural sort of beautiful, but at the same time she was distinctly different. "I'll keep that in mind," he murmured, though in all honesty he probably wouldn't use that advice in the near future. The forest was, well, the forest - dirty, dark, and crawling with lice... and probably monsters on occasion. "Pleasure to meet you, Katherine," the teenager offered his hand forward this time. "I'm Carwyn, Carwyn Callas, andthis is Cameron... Merlot - perhaps you're familiar with him - and, if I may, aren't you one of Artemis'?"

Cameron chuckled slightly. "Shoot, ya'll prettier then a picture," he said, his Texas draw and speech pattern terribly distinct. This girl must be a child of Aphrodite as well, but I thought she was the Deputy Huntress.... Oh, I see, she's both, Cameron thought. It must be difficult to be a daughter of the goddess of love and sexual desire and a vowed virgin... Cameron was glad that, as a boy, he did not have to worry about such things. "I reckon ya'll both a part of the Aphrodite family, 'sept you honey, you're one of them huntresses right?" Cameron said. His accent was rather adorable on such a proud looking young man. He knew it and from time to time used it to his advantage. Most of the Aphrodite girls couldn't get enough of it. He assumed that Carwyn would not, at least he hoped. And the safe assumption would be that Kate would think it cute, but not in the "ohmahgods, I gotta have him" sort a way it did for the other Aphrodite girls. Cameron just smiled at the two.

Kate smiled at Carwyn, debating for a second or two whether or not to shake his hand before she shook it. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, Carwyn.” She said, her smile widening when he mentioned the goddess of the hunt, Artemis. “I’m Artemis’s second in command, Carwyn.” She responded, Most people think it’s funny that my mother is Aphrodite and I’m forever a virgin, due to the fact they’re not suppose to mix. Most of them look over the fact I'm the daughter of the love goddess and I don't mind getting dirty. A miracle of it's own. She then turned to Cameron, “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, Cameron. Your one of Poseidon’s children, right?” She asked, I feel bad about asking, I probably should know this. She thought, turning her attention back to Cameron when he spoke. She smiled at his comment, not responding with words. That’s because I can’t think of the right words. She nodded when he asked her if she was a huntress, “Yes, That’s correct.” She answered, He has a cute voice, reminds me of a Jackalope. Now those are cute. She smiled back at Cameron. Artemis' second-in-command, eh? Carwyn greeted that fact with an interested quirk of the eyebrow but no further inquiries. It would be rude to ask how old the youthful looking hunttress really was, but he couldn't help but wonder; from what he knew that wasn't a rank to switch hands often, and he was certain that it hadn't in his lifetime. The teenager couldn't imagine what it had to be like to be amongst the longest lived demigods - virtually immortal - and yet denied the ability to age or have children. Carwyn wasn't looking forward to old age (if he even reached that, but based on past demigods that was highly unlikely), but at the same time he would want to be trapped in a teenager's body for eternity. Ew. Then again, it wasn't like he had to make such a decision, and he'd take the occasional outbreak of acne over wrinkles and scars and the ugly reality of old age any day. The teenager couldn't help but roll his cerulean eyes as Cameron began to utilize his accent; he personally thought that it was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard, but apparently girls just couldn't get enough of it, based on the snitches of gossip he'd heard from his sisters. The constant wind started to grow, and Carwyn glanced up at the cloudy grey sky warily. "Hate to break up the convo," the blonde started, "but perhaps we could move it inside? I heard that it was going to snow later..."' True, he had a delivery to make to the Hermes cabin, but that could be taken care of later.

Cameron also looked at the sky. He, however, did not fancy waiting out a snow storm in the Aphrodite cabin. Maybe I can convince them to hang out in my cabin, there aren't many of us, just me at this time a year... Cameron thought. He turned back to the two with a cheery smile. "Shoot, it looks a bleezard is blowin' in, maybe ya'll like to moozy on over to the Poseidon cabin," Cameron said. His voice was drawing the attention of the Aphrodite girls. He could hear the squeals of excitement. "Maybe we all better skeedatle over there faster then a jack rabbit, ya'll sisters gonna be coming out real shortly." Cameron gestured to the empty Poseidon cabin.

Kate couldn’t help but slightly smile when Carywn rolled his eyes at Cameron’s accent. I don’t even want to know what my sister’s think of his accent. She looked up at the sky, taking note of how cloudy it was. It’s going to snow soon. She thought, she held back a sigh when a sweep of wind messed up her hair. Great, Just great. She ran her fingers through it, trying to fix her curly brown hair without a brush. When he mentioned it was going to snow, she nodded. It’s a good idea to go inside during the storm, but it might not be the best idea to go inside the Aphrodite cabin. She thought, turning her attention to Cameron when he spoke. “Depends on what Carywn decides to do, I really don’t mind which cabin you decide to go to. I doubt Aphrodite girls changed much over the last 100 years.” She tilted her head when she heard squealing. Are they killing pigs in there or are they really excited about something. Scratch the killing pigs theory, they’re definitely excited about something. She smiled, “I bet they will be, I completely doubt they’re killing pigs in there. So they must be excited about something or someone.” She looked over at the empty Poseidon cabin. He must be really lonely without his siblings at camp. Word Count: 256
