Anneliese looked out of place in Willow Grove Park, with her tight, strapless dress and silver stilettos. Her alluring hazel eyes scanned the tar path before her, and saw only the snow-laden young maples. 'They were planted 86 years ago, when the Park Restoration Act was going on.' She noted this with a nod of her head, remembering the scruffy gardener that had been her meal that summer night. There were no such men on the premises these days, especially in the winter. No one took walks in the park anymore. She suspected that word had gotten out about her kind. Some foolish victim had told someone- showed the scar on his neck. How untrustworthy others could be disgusted her.
Ms. Sharp showed no signs that one might expect upon meeting a Lamia. She disguised her lust so well, that the innocent passerby, if anything, would be attracted to her thick red hair, her perfectly shaped nose, and her ability to keep up with the latest fashions. Not only that, but her inner self was enveloped in a surprisingly believable mask of kindness and generosity. It was shocking how fast she could make friends with someone. Even more so if you were to consider that upon doing so she would immediately sink her fangs into them.
Though one might get the impression that she was rich, this was not so. The Lamia contemplated this as she strolled through the centre of the park, her eyes still casting around for some prey. She had never been broke, but since it hadn't been considered 'proper' for women to go to college in the mid nineteenth century, she had never gotten what would now be considered as a complete education. Still, having lived longer than most she was wiser than your average person. The echoing footsteps came to a halt by a bench that was set in between two frosty rose bushes. She sat down, deciding that she would play out the spider routine- the prey would come to her.
OOC- Hmm... we need to make some humans.

All she had to do was take one glance at the red head walking through the park to know, the ginger was a vampire and she was hunting. Iris snorted. She preferred different tactics. Seduction. She could get all the prey she wanted, dinner every night, and all her victims thought that they were going to get laid. Not one of them has, Iris thought with pride. She then would simply wipe their thoughts and they forgot completely about the beautiful girl that they were going home with. Easy.
Quietly, Iris walked over toward the vampire. Lamia, she thought. I can smell it on her. Iris stepped on the path, her heels clicking noisily. The lamia would hear her, and she would probably think her prey, for a moment anyway... The gray dress that Iris wore swished around her mid-calves, awfully short for a dress, but something had to be done to be alluring. She adjusted the necklaces around her neck, and stopped in front of the ginger lamia. "Hey there, as you can hopefully tell by now I'm not human, so trying to eat me would be a waste of your time," she said, a hint of know-it-all-ness in her voice.

Anneliese glanced up at the sound of a new pair of high heels. The newcomer also wore a short dress, and what was probably an expensive one at that. She made no move to stand up, or even greet her as she usually would- she was in the presence of another Lamia. That much was crystal clear. The red head couldn't help but feel a small pang of jealousy. Even her outfit couldn't match up with the elegance of her rival's. 'But too elegant would be bad, would it not?' She didn't want her victims to be intimidated by her appearance.
The words that were carelessly thrown into the night air did not bother her. She merely smirked. Not many had been around on the planet for as long as she had, and she doubted that the speaker had, either. 'If she had, she would have known better than to speak to her superiors like that.' This thought comforted her, and she kept it in her head as she spoke.
"I assure you that I'm not completely senseless." Her voice, usually melodic, was tainted with dry sarcasm.

Iris couldn't help but laugh at the dryness in the lamia's voice. "Glad to hear it," she said with a slight chuckle. Iris, being a made vampire, was an excellent telepath. She heard the lamia's thought on Iris's foolishness at speak to her in the manner that she did. Damn Lamia, think they're so amazing, she thought with disdain. They're not so different from me, hell, my telepath is defiantly better... "But then again I can assure you that you are," Iris said with a smirk. She didn't usually talk this much, she hated being a vampire, yet here she was speaking more then she had in a week.
Iris tossed her long brown hair over her shoulder. "I do not see you as my superior, regardless of your age, I have my own set of superiors that you Lamia have very little apart of." Yes, Iris did sound a bit like a know-it-all. No, that wasn't how she usually sounded. But she couldn't help it, she was confronted with an almost naive lamia. It didn't even appear that this ginger understood about seduction, one of the best tools in Iris's own arsenal.

Anneliese laughed, really laughed. It was her first genuine one in a while. The vampire's insolence had taken an opposite effect on her. She had never been insulted like that in many, many years. It brought back good memories of heated arguments that she had participated in with various middle-aged colonial humans- ones that looked to disgusting to bite. In was in this lightened mood that she spoke her next words. "Why am I not surprised? What reason would you have to think of me as your superior, after all?" A soft smile still played on her lips as she brushed a lock of thick red hair out of her face, tucking it neatly behind her ear. It was clear that the vampire was using telepathy to see her thoughts- she could sense the waves of energy that were coursing through the air, much like the ones that bounced off a radio tower- it was headache provoking, though she was used to it. There was also an entertaining counteract, namely to think a medley of worthless thoughts along with ones that she would have already. She let an abundance of memories fill her mind, from visiting the slightly disturbing hippie camps from the seventies to being proposed to by a worthless politician that had fallen for her in about 1903.
"As for your superiors, I have no doubt that they exist." She didn't give a damn whether her acquaintance was lying or not.

Iris raised her delicate eyebrows at the ginger's laughter. She didn't exactly see what was so funny. Then the thoughts came. Iris saw many things roll through the lamia's head and into her own. Damn Telepath, I can't even turn it off... she thought with mild anger. Iris liked being a power telepath, but she had absolutely no control of it. It was her one downfall to the great power that she had, inability to stop and start her gift. Life, however, would go on. Iris did no one thing, it hadn't yet clicked in the ginger's tiny mind that Iris herself wasn't a lamia, but a made vampire. She wasn't born the way she was. Iris had been born 35 years ago, and she was born human. Now she was forever 18, no choice in the matter.
"My superiors? Most of my superiors are a lot older then you are, all of them a lot younger looking too," Iris said with a insanely troublesome smirk. "Plus, I don't listen to plain old lamia, they have to earn my respect."

Anneliese's smiled faded, but her amusement at the state of affairs remained. She could sense the frustration that was coming off of the vampire, and relished the satisfaction that it brought. She didn't need telepath- she could tell what others were thinking merely by studying their facial expressions. Granted, she didn't hear every word, but who wanted to, anyway? The old saying, 'A picture paints a thousand words' came into play in these situations. A face was like a picture... in a way. Yes, telepath, to the Lamia, seemed a worthless attribute- hardly anything to be proud of.
She was somewhat surprised at the next words that were confidently spoken by her acquaintance. A moment ago she had been speaking to her as if she was her mother, and now she was speaking like a child. "Ahh, but you are listening to me, and you can't help it." She wondered if the message would get through to the naive vampire. Most likely it would, and boy, would that wind her up. She shifted her position on the park bench, anticipating her next words.
OOC- I want to write Iris soooo badly xD

Iris chuckled quietly. "And you think just because I can hear what your thinking and saying means I'm listening?" Iris said challengingly. There is in fact a difference between listening and hearing. One can hear something, but it does not nearly mean that they have listened to it, she thought. Better yet, I'll project. Iris considered what she was going to say. Hearing and listening are two worldly different things, if you think about it you'll know, she thought to the lamia. The ginger would hear everything that Iris said, but it would be silent to the rest of the world.
See? Strong telepath has it's advantages, plus I already know all of your secrets, Iris projected. She laughed musically, loving to mess with people like that.[/blockquote] Word Count;; 163 Muse;; Epic fail, so sorry... Tags;; Anneliese

Anneliese sighed, drumming her graceful fingers across the smooth wood of the bench. The vampire said that she wasn't listening, yet she evidently was- enough to be able to use her thoughts to form 'insulting' retorts to her every statement. When she had said, 'you can't help it,' she had merely been implying that the brunette couldn't resist the temptation of delving through the minds of others to use their secrets to her advantage. As she saw it, the impulse seemed to be similar to the one that humans got if they were to catch sight of a trashy magazine in a newspaper stand. 'I'm aware of the difference between the two words." A wry smile made it's way to her lips.
Secrets? The Lamia honesty didn't have any that would be any use in blackmail- or whatever the vampire would use them in. Would the fact that she had put extra caffeine in a cup of coffee that was ordered by a grumpy old man who had ordered decaf be of any use? "You know my deep, dark, secrets, hmm? Now I'm really scared. If only I had the power to block out your telepath." She let out a mock sigh of longing.

Iris smirked again. "I'm sure you are, but are you really aware of what that difference means?" she asked. Iris was certain that she didn't, otherwise she wouldn't have said anything about being "aware of the difference". Iris twirled the little ribbon around her waist. Dark secrets then, so um, let's see what we have here, she thought. Iris realized that saying what she had, that she now was expected to say something about the secrets. So now she began to rifle through the ginger's mind. "As you rightfully should be, you bloodthirsty leech, didn't your parents ever teach you manners?" Iris chided the lamia. "Willing victims are always more tasty then victims just pulled off the street at random, but I'm sure you've never had a willing victim. You don't seem to understand the power of seduction," she continued. Iris loved using her good looks to her advantage. She also used a little mind tricking to ease her victims paranoia.

"You don't seem to understand that nothing you say is ever going to have an effect on me." Anneliese was honestly getting tired of the vampire's confidence. She enjoyed an argument, but the message that her rival was trying to make- one that she simply stated over and over again in different ways, was a worthless one, vis. that she was superior to the Lamia in every way possible. That was the problem with vampires- they were so wrapped up in the fact that they could read minds that they refused to pay attention to anything else, refused to see reason, or listen to anyone that wasn't one of their own kind.
"Seduction has more than one definition. Flirting with someone for an hour or two is only one." She glanced up at her with raised eyebrows. "It's the act of luring one into a trap by giving them a false impression. 'The art of seduction,' as you call it, has more than one way of being carried out. Not everyone's goal in life is to get laid, you know. I've had plenty of happy, content, eager victims. None of them are willing to get bitten, though. That would be against human nature."

Iris laughed musically. That was not the definition of "Seduction" at all! "Seduction is the act of seducing someone. To seduce is to entice, or lure, into sexual activity. It also means to attract powerfully. Attract in this case means the sexual or romantic interest. There for seduction does actually mean what I say it to mean," Iris explained. She knew that she was right, and now all she had to do was finish her explanation. "So, in conclusion, to successfully seduce some, then have them as a meal, is for them to believe they are going to get laid. Simple as that." Iris nodded as she spoke the last sentence. That was why she wore such sort of dresses, it made seducing her victims easier. Believe it or not, Iris herself was in fact a virgin...
"Well, that depends, most of my victims are happy to be bitten. They just don't know that I'm biting to draw blood," she explained, a devillish grin crossed her face.
