Description:
Lionfeather (or Oscar, as he's now called), is a massive tom who was muscular until his lax life turned his strength to fat. He has a longhaired pelt of wispy gold, as if sunbeams had solidified to make his tawny fur. While he carries the typical scars of a warrior - most noticeably on his muzzle - most are invisible beneath his immaculately groomed fur. His nose is pink with a few white speckles, and his eyes are a deep green ringed with amber at the edges and very center. Oscar typically sports a green collar with a silver jingle bell on it, and while he hasn't been declawed, his once-lethal claws have been dulled by scratching posts and files.History:
Born Lionkit in ShadowClan one Greenleaf, Oscar had four siblings: Sunnykit, Icekit, Yarrowkit, and Robinkit. The five kits were always competing for everything - bits of honeycomb from the medicine cat, feathers for their nest, love from their mother.Personality:
When it came time for them to be 'pawed, they ran into a problem not often faced by apprentices - too many youths and not enough mentors. It had been a prosperous few seasons, after all, and the clan was all but overrun with kits eager to start hunting. Lionpaw and his sister Robinpaw had to share a mentor: an ornery old tom on the verge of retirement by the name of Snaketooth. He had little interest in 'babysitting two rascals,' as he put it, and instead of teaching would typically demonstrate a hunting or fighting move once and then leave them to their own devices. While he was annoyed, he accepted this - it wasn't an ideal situation, but it could have been worse: he could have been shuffled from overworked warrior to warrior like Yarrowkit and Icekit. At least he was learning something!
Robinpaw, on the other hand, wasn't satisfied with this: she sought out a warrior to give her their undivided attention, and this unexpected mentor came from an even less likely place: the roguelands. She was exiled after being discovered with the rakish tom at the edge of territory, leaving her stunned siblings to puzzle out what had happened.
Tragedy apparently came in threes, though; Lionpaw's mother was struck with a terrible case of greencough that Leafbare and died. The same disease stole Sunnypaw.
And then there were three.
Lionpaw, Icepaw, and Yarrowpaw all became warriors with little difficulty, renamed Lionfeather, Icestreak, and Yarrowear.
... but Lionfeather, frankly, was tired of getting his tail clawed off by stupid ThunderClan idiots and having to hunt down crowfood-eaters for a decent meal. A particularly difficult Leafbare prompted him to hunt up a family of twolegs for food, and come Newleaf he wasn't ready to leave.
Lionfeather is a very laidback sort of tom; not much ruffles his fur, and he'll admit his own ineptitudes with a laugh and a grin, even embellishing them. He does have plenty of faults to boast about - laziness and gluttony, just to name a few. There's nothing he likes more than a big can of Fancy Feast garnished with a sprig of catnip, unless it's Fancy Feast and a nice long bath in the sun. He also adores twoleg attention - they're like overgrown kits that hand out treats - and can get rather grumpy when ignored by his human family. When it comes to younger cats, Lionfeather is pretty tolerant, accepting any taunts they might deal out to him. Warriors? He'll remain pretty mellow around them, appropriately respectful, and when faced by any accusations of disloyalty he'll simply laugh and say, "What, you haven't figured it out yet?" Being a kittypet might not be the 'honorable' path, but man, it sure beats freezing your tail out and competing with the buzzards for food!Role-Playing Sample:
